PUNTA MITA wedding photographer – Photography in Mexico & Europe

Hi! I’m Antonio, a destination wedding photographer based in Mexico, and Punta Mita is one of the most extraordinary places I get to work in.

Punta Mita occupies a private peninsula on the Riviera Nayarit, about an hour north of Puerto Vallarta, where the Pacific Ocean wraps around one of Mexico’s most exclusive stretches of coastline. The peninsula is home to some of the finest wedding venues in the country, the Four Seasons Punta Mita and St. Regis Punta Mita anchor the luxury end, while Conrad Punta de Mita, W Punta de Mita and Susurros del Corazón by Auberge Resorts each offer a completely distinct character. What they share is the same extraordinary Pacific light, the Marietas Islands visible across Banderas Bay, and a sense of remove from the world that very few destinations in Mexico can match.

I specialize in blending editorial and documentary wedding photography, present throughout your day without ever getting in the way. I work both in digital and on film, and the Pacific light of Punta Mita, warm, directional and extraordinary at golden hour as the sun drops over Banderas Bay, is among the finest I’ve encountered anywhere in Mexico for analog photography.

Whether you’re planning an intimate ceremony on a private beach or a grand multi-day celebration at one of the peninsula’s luxury resorts, I’d be honored to be there with you.

FILM PHOTOGRAPHY

PUNTA MITA on film — analog wedding photography

The light in Punta Mita has a quality that comes from its geography, a peninsula surrounded by Pacific on three sides, with Banderas Bay opening up to the west and the Sierra Madre behind. At golden hour, that light arrives low and warm across the water, hitting the beach and the resort terraces from an angle that photographers spend careers looking for. On analog film, that quality becomes something extraordinary, rich, warm and cinematic in a way that feels entirely suited to a place this beautiful.

For me, film isn’t a stylistic choice made for trends, it’s a deliberate creative decision. The slower pace it demands, the intentionality it requires, produces images that feel crafted rather than captured. Images that age beautifully.

I offer both fully analog collections and film add-ons to digital coverage. If you’re curious about incorporating film into your Bacalar wedding, just mention it when you get in touch.

Frequently asked questions

01.

How would you describe your approach to wedding photography?

My approach blends documentary and editorial instincts. For most of your day I stay invisible, capturing real moments as they unfold. During portraits I guide you gently, making sure you look and feel your best without spending too long away from your guests.

02.

Do you shoot on film in Punta Mita?

Yes, and I love it. The quality of light on the lagoon is exceptional for analog photography. I offer fully analog collections as well as film add-ons to digital coverage, just mention your interest when you get in touch.

03.

Can we meet or have a call before booking?

Absolutely. I’m always happy to jump on a video call to hear about your plans and answer any questions. It’s a great way to make sure we’re the right fit for each other before committing to anything.

04.

How far in advance should we book?

Most couples book around a year in advance, especially for peak season dates. I’d recommend reaching out as soon as you have a date in mind to check availability.

05.

When will we receive our photos?

You’ll receive a preview gallery within 48 hours of your wedding. The full edited collection is delivered within two months.

06.

Do you travel for weddings outside Punta Mita?

Yes, I photograph weddings across Mexico, including Cancún, Tulum, Riviera Maya, Los Cabos, Puerto Vallarta, San Miguel de Allende and beyond. I’m also open to destinations outside Mexico.
