HOLBOX wedding photographer – Photography in Mexico & Europe
Hi! I’m Antonio, a destination wedding photographer based in Mexico, and Holbox is one of those places I always look forward to returning to.
Isla Holbox sits off the northern tip of the Yucatán Peninsula, inside a protected natural reserve, and it operates on a different rhythm to the rest of Mexico. There are no cars, just sandy streets, golf carts, and a pace of life that slows everything down. The water here is a shallow, glassy mix of the Caribbean and the Gulf of Mexico, the sunsets are extraordinary, and the island’s entire atmosphere pushes couples naturally toward something intimate and unhurried. It’s a place chosen by people who aren’t interested in the resort circuit, people who want their wedding to feel like an escape.
I specialize in blending editorial and documentary wedding photography, present throughout your day without ever getting in the way. I work both in digital and on film, and Holbox’s soft, diffused Caribbean light is one of the most beautiful I’ve encountered for analog photography. Venues like Ser Casasandra, Villas Flamingos, Las Nubes de Holbox and Punta Coco offer settings that feel genuinely away from the world.
Whether you’re planning a barefoot ceremony on the beach at sunset, an intimate dinner under the palapa of a boutique hotel, or a small celebration with your closest people, I’d be honored to be there with you.

HOLBOX on film — analog wedding photography
Holbox has a quality of light that’s unlike anywhere else in Mexico. Because the island sits between two bodies of water, the light wraps around everything, soft, warm, and consistent throughout the day. On analog film, that gentleness translates into images that feel almost dreamlike, with a warmth and grain that amplifies the island’s natural romance. It’s one of my favorite places in the world to shoot on film.
For me, film isn’t a stylistic choice made for trends, it’s a deliberate creative decision. The slower pace it demands, the intentionality it requires, produces images that feel crafted rather than captured. Images that age beautifully.
I offer both fully analog collections and film add-ons to digital coverage. If you’re curious about incorporating film into your Bacalar wedding, just mention it when you get in touch.

Frequently asked questions
01.
How would you describe your approach to wedding photography?
My approach blends documentary and editorial instincts. For most of your day I stay invisible, capturing real moments as they unfold. During portraits I guide you gently, making sure you look and feel your best without spending too long away from your guests.
02.
Do you shoot on film in Holbox?
Yes, and I love it. The quality of light on the lagoon is exceptional for analog photography. I offer fully analog collections as well as film add-ons to digital coverage, just mention your interest when you get in touch.
03.
Can we meet or have a call before booking?
Absolutely. I’m always happy to jump on a video call to hear about your plans and answer any questions. It’s a great way to make sure we’re the right fit for each other before committing to anything.
04.
How far in advance should we book?
Most couples book around a year in advance, especially for peak season dates. I’d recommend reaching out as soon as you have a date in mind to check availability.

You’ll receive a preview gallery within 48 hours of your wedding. The full edited collection is delivered within two months.
06.
