Hi! I’m Antonio, a destination wedding photographer based in Mexico, and Baja California is one of those destinations that keeps surprising me every time I’m there.
Baja is a peninsula of contrasts: desert meets Pacific Ocean, vineyard meets coastline, rugged mountains meet pristine beaches. That tension between landscapes creates a visual richness that very few places in Mexico can match. Couples who choose Baja are usually after something away from the resort circuit, intimate, grounded, and genuinely their own. From the beachfront boutique venues of Todos Santos and the wine country around Ensenada to the secluded shores of the Sea of Cortés, every corner of this peninsula offers something distinct.
I specialize in blending editorial and documentary wedding photography, present throughout your day without ever getting in the way. I work both in digital and on film, and Baja’s extraordinary light, that golden Pacific quality that shifts throughout the day, is made for analog photography.
Some of the venues I love most in the region include Rancho Pescadero in Todos Santos, Mar y Luz and Hotel California for intimate ceremonies, the wine estates of L.A. Cetto, Monte Xanic and Adobe Guadalupe in Valle de Guadalupe, and private coastal properties along the Pacific and the Sea of Cortés. Each setting has its own personality — from dusty vineyard rows glowing at golden hour to wild Pacific cliffs with crashing waves behind you.

Baja California has a quality of light that photographers talk about in the same breath as Tuscany or Provence, warm, directional, with a golden haze that arrives early and stays long. On analog film, that light becomes something extraordinary. The grain, the warmth, the slight unpredictability of the medium, it all amplifies what’s already there.
For me, film isn’t a stylistic choice made for trends, it’s a deliberate creative decision. The slower pace it demands, the intentionality it requires, produces images that feel crafted rather than captured. Images that age beautifully.

Where to get married in Baja California
Baja California is not a single destination but several, each with its own light, its own landscape, and its own character. The venues that work best here tend to be those that lean into that, properties that feel embedded in the terrain rather than placed on top of it.
Valle de Guadalupe is Mexico’s premier wine country, a dusty, sun-drenched valley about an hour south of Ensenada where vineyard weddings have become increasingly sought-after by couples from California and the Pacific Northwest. Adobe Guadalupe is the most iconic address, a working winery and boutique inn with a chapel, barrel rooms, and vine-framed ceremony spaces that photograph beautifully in the late afternoon light. Monte Xanic and L.A. Cetto offer larger production capacities for couples planning bigger celebrations, while smaller estates like Bruma and Finca Altozano have a more intimate, editorial feel that suits smaller gatherings particularly well.
Todos Santos on the Pacific coast of Baja Sur has become one of Mexico’s most quietly fashionable wedding destinations. Rancho Pescadero is the standout property, a boutique resort with direct beach access, a strong design identity, and a landscape that shifts between Pacific dunes, organic gardens, and open sky. Hotel California suits smaller, more intimate ceremonies, and several private beach properties in the area can be arranged for couples who want complete seclusion.
The Sea of Cortés side of the peninsula offers calmer water, warmer tones, and a more dramatic desert-meets-sea landscape. Private villa retreats and small boutique properties here give couples something genuinely rare: a wedding venue that feels like no other place on earth.

How would you describe your approach to wedding photography?
My approach blends documentary and editorial instincts. For most of your day I stay invisible, capturing real moments as they unfold. During portraits I guide you gently, making sure you look and feel your best without spending too long away from your guests.

Do you shoot on film in Baja California?
Yes, and I love it. The golden Pacific light in Baja California, warm, directional, and extraordinary at dusk, is exceptional for analog photography. I offer fully analog collections as well as film add-ons to digital coverage, just mention your interest when you get in touch.

Can we meet or have a call before booking?
Absolutely. I’m always happy to jump on a video call to hear about your plans and answer any questions. It’s a great way to make sure we’re the right fit for each other before committing to anything.

How far in advance should we book?
Most couples book around a year in advance, especially for peak season dates. I’d recommend reaching out as soon as you have a date in mind to check availability.

When will we receive our photos?
You’ll receive a preview gallery within 48 hours of your wedding. The full edited collection is delivered within two months.
06.
Do you travel for weddings outside Baja California?
Yes, I photograph weddings across Mexico, including Cancún, Tulum, Riviera Maya, Los Cabos, Puerto Vallarta, San Miguel de Allende and beyond. I’m also open to destinations outside Mexico.
