Hi! I’m Antonio, a destination wedding photographer based in Mexico, and Puerto Vallarta is one of the most layered and characterful destinations I work in.
Puerto Vallarta sits on the shores of Banderas Bay, on Mexico’s Pacific coast, and it has something that most resort destinations don’t: a genuine city at its heart. The historic Zona Romántica, the cobblestone streets of El Centro, the Malecón along the waterfront, PV has a soul that goes beyond the beach. That character shows up in the weddings too. The venue range here is extraordinary: luxury cliffside resorts like Garza Blanca Preserve and Hotel Mousai with their infinity pools and Pacific panoramas, all-inclusive beachfront properties like Hyatt Ziva and Dreams Vallarta Bay on Banderas Bay, intimate private estates like Casa Karma on Conchas Chinas Beach, and completely secluded locations only accessible by boat like Las Caletas, a private beach in the jungle with no road access, reachable only by yacht. The light in Puerto Vallarta comes from a different direction than the Caribbean coast, it arrives from the west, over the Pacific, and it hits Banderas Bay with a warmth and intensity that’s entirely its own. The mountains behind the city create a natural backdrop that channels the light downward, and at golden hour that combination of mountain shadow and Pacific glow produces something genuinely cinematic. On analog film, that warmth amplifies into images that feel rich, textured and completely timeless.
For me, film isn’t a stylistic choice made for trends, it’s a deliberate creative decision. The slower pace it demands, the intentionality it requires, produces images that feel crafted rather than captured. Images that age beautifully.

Where to get married in Puerto Vallarta
Puerto Vallarta and the Riviera Nayarit together form one of the richest wedding venue ecosystems in Mexico. The range runs from dramatic cliffside luxury to secluded jungle beaches only reachable by sea, and every setting has its own distinct character.
Garza Blanca Preserve Resort & Spa is the most visually compelling address in Puerto Vallarta proper, a cliffside resort with infinity pools cascading toward the Pacific, white architecture against tropical green, and ceremony spaces that produce images unlike anything on the Caribbean coast. Its sister property Hotel Mousai, adults-only and with an even more contemporary design identity, suits couples who want something with a stronger editorial feel.
Hacienda San Angel sits in the hills above the Zona Romántica, a collection of historic Mexican mansions with views across the red-tiled rooftops of El Centro to the bay. It’s one of the most intimate and characterful venues in all of Mexico, best suited to small celebrations where atmosphere matters more than capacity.
Casa Kimberly, the historic home of Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton, is a singular address in the old town with a rooftop pool, sweeping bay views, and the kind of storied character that no new-build property can manufacture.
Las Caletas is perhaps the most extraordinary venue in the destination: a private beach in the jungle south of Puerto Vallarta, accessible only by boat, completely off the grid, with no road access and no neighboring properties. Ceremonies here have an intimacy and a wildness that is genuinely difficult to find anywhere else in Mexico.
On the Riviera Nayarit side of the bay, Siari, A Ritz-Carlton Reserve in Punta Mita represents the highest end of the Pacific Mexico luxury market, a collection of private villas on a surf-washed headland with the Four Seasons as its neighbor. Four Seasons Punta Mita itself remains one of the most consistently excellent luxury wedding properties in the country, with two beaches, multiple ceremony spaces, and a level of coordination that makes complex celebrations feel effortless.

My approach blends documentary and editorial instincts. For most of your day I stay invisible, capturing real moments as they unfold. During portraits I guide you gently, making sure you look and feel your best without spending too long away from your guests.

Do you shoot on film in Puerto Vallarta?
Yes, and I love it. The golden Pacific light in Puerto Vallarta is exceptional for analog photography — that warm bay light, the drama of the Sierra Madre and the rich tropical tones all translate beautifully to film. I offer fully analog collections as well as film add-ons to digital coverage, just mention your interest when you get in touch.

Can we meet or have a call before booking?
Absolutely. I’m always happy to jump on a video call to hear about your plans and answer any questions. It’s a great way to make sure we’re the right fit for each other before committing to anything.

How far in advance should we book?
Most couples book around a year in advance, especially for peak season dates. I’d recommend reaching out as soon as you have a date in mind to check availability.

When will we receive our photos?
You’ll receive a preview gallery within 48 hours of your wedding. The full edited collection is delivered within two months.

Do you travel for weddings outside Puerto Vallarta?
Yes, I photograph weddings across Mexico, including Cancún, Tulum, Riviera Maya, Los Cabos, Bacalar, San Miguel de Allende and beyond. I’m also open to destinations outside Mexico.
