wedding photographer in Riviera Maya – Photography in Mexico & Europe
Hi! I’m Antonio, a destination wedding photographer based in Mexico, and the Riviera Maya is where I’ve spent more time than anywhere else.
The Riviera Maya stretches along the Caribbean coast of the Yucatán Peninsula from Puerto Morelos in the north down through Playa del Carmen, Akumal and into Tulum, over 100 kilometers of white-sand beaches, cenotes, jungle and some of the most beautiful water in the world. It’s Mexico’s most celebrated wedding destination for good reason: the combination of accessibility, infrastructure, natural beauty and sheer variety of venues is unmatched anywhere in the country. Grand beachfront resorts like Grand Velas Riviera Maya, Hyatt Ziva Riviera Maya and Secrets Akumal sit alongside intimate boutique properties like Viceroy Riviera Maya, adults-only hideaways like UNICO 20°87°, and entirely private venues accessible only through the jungle. And beneath it all, a network of cenotes, natural limestone sinkholes filled with crystalline freshwater, that offer some of the most otherworldly ceremony settings I’ve ever photographed.
I specialize in blending editorial and documentary wedding photography, present throughout your day without ever getting in the way. I work both in digital and on film, and the Caribbean light of the Riviera Maya, with its extraordinary turquoise water and lush tropical greens, translates into analog photography unlike almost anywhere else.
Whether you’re planning a grand resort celebration, a cenote ceremony, an intimate jungle villa wedding or anything in between, I’d be honored to be there with you.

RIVIERA MAYA on film — analog wedding photography
The Riviera Maya has a quality of light that comes from the combination of Caribbean ocean, tropical canopy and the white limestone geology underneath, a brightness that reflects upward and wraps around everything. On analog film, that light produces something extraordinary: the turquoise of the water deepens, the greens of the jungle become richer, and the warmth of golden hour on the beach takes on a texture that digital photography simply can’t replicate. It’s one of the most rewarding places in the world to shoot on film.
For me, film isn’t a stylistic choice made for trends, it’s a deliberate creative decision. The slower pace it demands, the intentionality it requires, produces images that feel crafted rather than captured. Images that age beautifully.
I offer both fully analog collections and film add-ons to digital coverage. If you’re curious about incorporating film into your Bacalar wedding, just mention it when you get in touch.

Frequently asked questions
01.
How would you describe your approach to wedding photography?
My approach blends documentary and editorial instincts. For most of your day I stay invisible, capturing real moments as they unfold. During portraits I guide you gently, making sure you look and feel your best without spending too long away from your guests.
02.
Do you shoot on film in Riviera Maya?
Yes, and I love it. The quality of light on the lagoon is exceptional for analog photography. I offer fully analog collections as well as film add-ons to digital coverage, just mention your interest when you get in touch.
03.
Can we meet or have a call before booking?
Absolutely. I’m always happy to jump on a video call to hear about your plans and answer any questions. It’s a great way to make sure we’re the right fit for each other before committing to anything.

How far in advance should we book?
Most couples book around a year in advance, especially for peak season dates. I’d recommend reaching out as soon as you have a date in mind to check availability.

You’ll receive a preview gallery within 48 hours of your wedding. The full edited collection is delivered within two months.
06.
