SAYULITA wedding photographer i – Photography in Mexico & Europe
Hi! I’m Antonio, a destination wedding photographer based in Mexico, and Sayulita is one of those places that has a completely unique energy.
Sayulita is a surf town on the Riviera Nayarit, about 45 minutes north of Puerto Vallarta, and it operates on its own rhythm. Colorful streets, a bohemian spirit, the Pacific crashing against the main beach, it’s a place chosen by couples who want their wedding to feel alive and authentic rather than polished and predictable. The venue scene here reflects that personality perfectly: Don Pedro’s Palapa perched above the main beach with panoramic Pacific views, Brisa Mar Palapa on a hilltop overlooking the sea and the village, the beachfront palm grove of Frente al Punto, intimate cliffside estates like Amor Boutique Hotel’s La Gran Villa and Villa Amor Eterno, the secluded jungle luxury of Teitiare Estate just south of town, and the private cove of The Cove Sayulita with its sandy beach and ocean views. Each one feels distinctly Sayulita, unpretentious, warm and genuinely beautiful.
I specialize in blending editorial and documentary wedding photography — present throughout your day without ever getting in the way. I work both in digital and on film, and Sayulita’s Pacific light, especially at golden hour, when the sun drops over the ocean and the whole town turns warm, is extraordinary for analog photography.
Whether you’re planning an intimate ceremony for thirty guests at a clifftop villa or a larger celebration under the palapa with dancing that goes late into the night, I’d be honored to be there with you.

SAYULITA on film — analog wedding photography
Sayulita’s Pacific sunsets are some of the most spectacular I’ve photographed anywhere in Mexico. The sun drops directly into the ocean here, and in the final hour of light the entire coast turns a deep, warm gold that wraps around everything, the palapa roofs, the tropical foliage, the faces of your guests. On analog film, that light becomes something genuinely extraordinary. The grain of the film amplifies the warmth and the contrast, creating images that feel as vibrant and alive as the town itself.
For me, film isn’t a stylistic choice made for trends, it’s a deliberate creative decision. The slower pace it demands, the intentionality it requires, produces images that feel crafted rather than captured. Images that age beautifully.
I offer both fully analog collections and film add-ons to digital coverage. If you’re curious about incorporating film into your Bacalar wedding, just mention it when you get in touch.

Frequently asked questions
01.
How would you describe your approach to wedding photography?
My approach blends documentary and editorial instincts. For most of your day I stay invisible, capturing real moments as they unfold. During portraits I guide you gently, making sure you look and feel your best without spending too long away from your guests.
02.
Do you shoot on film in Sayulita?
Yes, and I love it. The quality of light on the lagoon is exceptional for analog photography. I offer fully analog collections as well as film add-ons to digital coverage, just mention your interest when you get in touch.
03.
Can we meet or have a call before booking?
Absolutely. I’m always happy to jump on a video call to hear about your plans and answer any questions. It’s a great way to make sure we’re the right fit for each other before committing to anything.
04.
How far in advance should we book?
Most couples book around a year in advance, especially for peak season dates. I’d recommend reaching out as soon as you have a date in mind to check availability.
05.
When will we receive our photos?
You’ll receive a preview gallery within 48 hours of your wedding. The full edited collection is delivered within two months.
06.
Do you travel for weddings outside Sayulita?
Yes, I photograph weddings across Mexico, including Cancún, Tulum, Riviera Maya, Los Cabos, Puerto Vallarta, San Miguel de Allende and beyond. I’m also open to destinations outside Mexico.
